What are the structural types of utility boilers?

The type of body structure of a utility boiler mainly depends on factors such as fuel characteristics, boiler capacity, and steam parameters. The common types are inverted U-type, tower type, and box type.

(1) The inverted U type is suitable for boilers and fuels of various capacities, so it is widely used. The height of the boiler is lower than that of other furnace types, and the arrangement of the heating surface is more convenient. Both the fan and dust removal equipment can be placed on the ground, but the floor area is large.

(2) The tower type is suitable for boilers burning ash rich bituminous coal and lignite, without turning flues, which can reduce local wear of the heating surface caused by fly ash, and has a small floor area. However, the furnace body is high, and installation and maintenance are complex.

(3) The box type is suitable for oil and gas fired boilers with large capacity. The flue above the furnace is divided into two parts: one part is directly connected to the furnace outlet, and the flue gas is upward; The other part of the flue gas flows downward. Its advantages are compact structure, small floor area, and convenient connection between boiler and steam turbine. The disadvantage is that the manufacturing process is complex and maintenance is difficult.
